Entanglement is a unique micro drama series consisting of a prologue and 13 episodes, each lasting between three to five minutes (63 minutes total). This romantic drama is built around an inventive storytelling device, where the words from Marie Bashkirtseff's nineteenth-century journal are spoken decades later by Marya Courventin—who has no prior knowledge of Marie or her diary. The series unfolds this intriguing mystery before delivering its emotional depth in the finale. Each episode acts as a self-contained cinematic short, contributing to the larger narrative, making it an excellent fit for digital short-form audiences, and reminiscent of a feature film like The Reincarnation of Marie.
The Reincarnation of Marie
A young French soldier falls in love with his soulmate—only to discover she died seventy years earlier... until she mysteriously appears before him in 1957 Paris.
The Reincarnation of Marie is a full-length literary romantic drama that tells the complete story of obsession, meeting, two days of romantic passion, and loss. Framed by an American narrator at a candlelit Swiss inn on the night before his French friend ships out to Algeria.
Lieutenant Yann Roussel discovers the journal of Marie Bashkirtseff, a Ukrainian French artist who died in 1884 at 25, beside the Seine in 1953. He falls, impossibly and irrationally, in love with a woman dead for seven decades. He visits her tomb at Passy. He learns her paintings, her music, her handwriting, her face in stained glass. Then, on his last weekend before Algeria, he meets Marya Courventin, a 19-year-old Ukrainian pianist who speaks Marie's exact words from the journal without knowing they were written.
He has two days. He uses every minute.
Slippin'

Slippin' takes the core premise of The Reincarnation of Marie — that souls return, that love persists across time, that the universe has a long memory — and moves it into the present day, into modern consciousness, and into the full metaphysical territory the feature film can only gesture toward. The series is set in the 70s, with past-life sequences that move fluidly between that reality and previous incarnations including 19th-century Paris.
At the center of the story is a man in his twenties whose involuntary Slips through time intensifies when he meets a woman who triggers experiences he cannot control. The Slips are not hallucinations. They follow the lines of karmic relationship, pulling him toward people and moments his soul has encountered before, in other lives, in other bodies, and forcing him to witness every life in which he failed the woman he loved through cowardice, betrayal, or absence. The series' question is not whether he can find her. It is whether he can face himself honestly enough to deserve her.

Doug has co-written, produced or co-produced four independent feature films, and is a member of Screen Actors Guild and Writer’s Guild of America. Doug lives in Colorado, where he was a volunteer firefighter from 2003 – 2019.
